The Government of the Republic of Türkiyedonated a Gas Sterilization System and 200 pagers to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society Hospitals in Jerusalem and Al-Khalil

The Government of the Republic of Türkiye provided a Gas Sterilization System and100 pagers to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society Hospital in Jerusalem with their complete software systems and donated a similar system with 100 pagers to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society Hospital in Al-Khalil. The entire project which was carried outby Turkish International Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) costed 195.000 US Dollars in total.

The handing over ceremony took place in Red Crescent Society Hospital in East Jerusalem today with the participation of H.E. Ambassador Şakir Özkan Torunlar, Consul General of Türkiye in Jerusalem and H.E. Adnan Husseini, Minister of Jerusalem Affairs of the State of Palestine.

During his speech Ambassador Torunlar emphasized that the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish people will uninterruptedly continue to give utmost support to the State of Palestine as well as to the Palestinian people in the framework of the existing fraternal relations.

Minister Husseini welcomed the donation and expressed his gratitude during the ceremony.

The health sector is one of the leading sectors among the development projects carried out by Türkiye in Palestine.

Another project of TİKA, the Turkish Hospital in Tubas which costed approximately 6,5 million US Dollars is planned to be opened in March 2013. It will be the largest health facility in the Northern Governorates of Palestine.

Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital in Gaza, the construction of which estimated to becompleted with cost of 34 million US Dollars, is another project funded by the Government of the Republic of Türkiye. The construction is planned to be finished later this year.

It is also worth to mention that, immediately after the last military assault on Gaza, which resulted with the death of nearly 170 and hundreds of wounded Palestinians, Turkish Government provided 50 tons of essential medical supplies including medicine to Gaza Hospitals. The cost of this aid was 650.000 US Dollars.
